writer escape room
Dec. 9th, 2018 06:55 pmI'm on Pillowfort, too, and I made a writing community room over there called the "writer escape room". It's a kind of place to just be the human behind your work, to gush and vent and listen and be heard.
I know I already said this
Dec. 8th, 2018 12:05 amBut, this all reminds me so much of when I made my own website, hosted by...oh, man, I don't even remember. But, you could custom the mouse to have glitter sparks follow it around and to include a guest book. Oh, man. Do you remember the page counters and the guest book? What was even the point of those? I want those. Can I put those on my dream journal?
On another, completely unrelated note, I'm trying to grow my very own pine trees and I've been trying to since about this time last year. They were doing so good, but now I'm worried they're dying because their needles are falling out and I already lost one. I looked up what to watch out for and it's likely too dry in the room I've got them and in general. I live in a desert. We have pines here, but the ones in the mount'ns are stronger, I guess? That's part of what I read, that container pine seedlings are more delicate. I suppose that makes sense.
After reading that bit about dry air, I hooked up my reptile humidifier (Doc, my snake, hates it anyway, so he won't mind my appropriating it except for twice a week for him) to humidify my baby Pines. Hopefully they'll rally. I haven't named them yet. I want to be cautious.

This day and week
Dec. 6th, 2018 10:49 pmI got myself an early x-mas gift in the form of a desk that is big enough for writing and sewing, which is great, but I'm inclined to only focus on one project at a time. Sorta wobbly, one section is, but ultimately just fine. I finished making three pairs of lounge pants (fabric store was having a sale on flannels, super cool), one of which is emblazoned with the USS Enterprise. I used blue buffalo check as the drawstring for both contrast and to indulge my love for Dr. McCoy, because he's awesome.
This has actually been a good week, at least in terms of big decisions. I can't go back and beat the shit out of myself for getting into credit card debt at the tender age of, like, 19, but I can try to repair my abysmal habits. Let's say that I fixed a few issues only to get myself back into those same issues, but waaaaaay deeper. But, anyway, I'm on a long road to fixing it, which is a relief. Watch, though, once I'm completely out of the woods, the world will implode and I get to take God up on His bizarre sense of humor.

So much like the old days
Dec. 6th, 2018 12:06 pmI guess the old ways are probably the better ones, since moderation can be trickier and people tend to understand how websites work.
anyhoover, the McElroy family has a new site and is doing Monster Factory again. Not that polygon is a bad company, but I like that they're independent now. I wonder if they'll leave Maximum Fun and host their own podcasts. again. I dunno. MaxFun's fine and all, but I'm pretty much there just for McElroy content.
so, I'm watching this latest Monster Factory at work and I keep having to pause to quell my laughter or to make sure no one can look and see the half-nakey pixel man. pls enjoy, too:
